Sydney seven-piece, Sir Archer have delivered their new single, Wake Up.
The mid-tempo cut pivots away from their more overtly funk-based outings into an atmospheric offering that leans into rock-meets-synth-pop territory. Lush and dreamy percussion unfurls beneath front man Luke Zancanaro's soothing vocal performance, building towards a climactic final chorus that erupts with into an anthemic ending backed by euphoric harmonies. The self-reflective track explores finding growth together from past mistakes and disagreements, and moving forward towards a brighter union.
“Wake up is a personal favourite of mine to play live. James on guitar and myself on percurssion [sic] share a rhythmic moment together where we give each other this look, and we know it’s go time, and we always lock in. That’s definitely a really fun moment we get to play together. That, along with the vocals in the outro where you get to Luke and James carrying the main hook, while Tommy, Rick and I layer up extra harmonies. 5 people singing all at once... it’s magical!” shares band member Tyler Azzopardi.
To celebrate the release, Sir Archer will take to the stage at Sydney's Paddo RSL on May 19 for a hometown performance. Supported by Lahgo and Serviette Union, tickets are on sale now! The band will also host a 'secret show' in Sydney on May 25, with fans being able to secure their spot via signing up to the bands mailing list.
