Having just wrapped up their co-headline tour with Satin Cali and Gold Blum, Sydney indie-rock outfit Highline are gearing up to share the visual for their latest single, Here Now. If you’re loving the track and hanging to see the visual, watch the songs official music video right here on MILKY before its release!
Directed by Tom Dillon, we follow the four-piece through a number of natural settings, frolicking through grassy plains, taking to the marina and performing by a river, offering small moments of space and contemplation. The down-tempo track serves as a reminder to live in the present, built upon warm and lulling sonics as frontman Sam Rigney's mesmerising vocals float above.
“This song really started out with Rhys’s guitar line heard in the intro and we just built on it. It’s one of those songs that I never really get sick of playing, which is rare”, Rigney shares of the track. Guitarist Rhys Hope adds, “Sometimes there are only fleeting moments when all feels good. ‘Here Now’ is about being in one of those moments, and asking whoever you’re with to join in on those opportunities, and let it all unfold. The song is about ignoring what is presented as a predominantly melancholic space, and appreciating the release from that tension.”
Forming in high school after playing together in their schools jazz band, Highline have spent the last few years building up their fanbase and carving out their own path within the indie-rock genre. Having released their debut EP, Strictly Dreaming, in 2020, the four-piece followed it up last year with their sophomore EP, Off Track, recorded with Jack Nigro at The Grove Studios.
