Genre-defying, multi-hyphenate artist underscores has released Wallsocket (Director’s Cut) - a deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed 2023 record. To celebrate the release, underscores has curated a playlist full of tracks she was listening to during her debut Australian tour.
“After I released my album Wallsocket, I realised there was still more I wanted to say and do with the album’s world. Wallsocket (Director’s Cut) contains two fan favourites previously leaked through secret websites, as well as two never-before-heard songs”.
01 TYLA, GUNNA, SKILLIBENG - JUMP
Definitely my most played song when I was in Australia. I was super late. Hadn’t heard the song until the video came out. Very addictive.
02 TYLER THE CREATOR - LUMBERJACK
Listened to this while getting fish and chips in Perth. Got up for 10 seconds to get a fork and knife and came back to a bunch of seagulls pecking at it. Everyone was looking at me.
03 GABBY START - OPTIFINE
Placeholder. My actual most played song when I was in Australia was an unreleased gabby start song — definitely can’t share that.
04 ECCO2K - CC
The team that put our Australian tour together, WavyLand, was also running an AUS Ecco2k headline tour at the same time. Got to see the show in Melbourne; was reminded of how timeless ℮ is.
05 WILLIAM CROOKS, ACHE - DEKABOUTER
Their project YOUTH GROUP came out when I was on tour. Insanely forward-thinking project, high recommend.
06 BON IVER - 33 “GOD”
Stayed at the Ace Hotel.
07 SAOIRSE DREAM - I WANT IT ALL (TROPHY)
Music that could’ve only been made in 2024. Very excited where this style could go, very excited for her next album.
08 BRITNEY SPEARS - DON’T HANG UP
In the Zone is my plane album. There’s a sneaky EP on streaming called In the Zone DVD Bonus Audio and this song’s on it. Top 5 Britney song. Who was hiding this from me?
09 DEADMAU5 - STROBE
After the Sydney show, we had to book it back to NYC for Governor’s Ball. Someone said their best way to sleep is by playing this song. I put on the album, fell asleep, and when this song started, I woke up.
