Naarm/Melbourne via Walyalup/Fremantle trio, the stamps have dropped their new single, Jaime's Song, alongside the announcement of their debut album In All The Ways I Am. To celebrate, the band have curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of tracks to soundtrack the ultimate road trip.
the stamps’ Scarlett Graham shares that Jamie’s Song “helped me process the fact that it’s okay not to have everything quite figured out and assured me that sometimes you will lose a bit of yourself when you’re experiencing things completely foreign to you. It’s my ultimate “what on earth is going on right now? I have no clue, but I guess for tonight I’ll just enjoy it” song.”
MK.GEE - CANDY
We all discovered Mk.gee at different times, but didn’t realise we were all fans until someone randomly put him on the aux in the car. The entire Two Star & The Dream Police is such a great album and we loved rediscovering it together.
THE PAPER KITES - BY MY SIDE FEAT. ROSIE CARNEY
This is the perfect track for a rainy road trip. Roses by The Paper Kites soundtracked much of our Eurail trip back in 2022, and so playing this track during the tour brought us right back to our travels.
OLIVIA DEAN - TOUCHING TOES
We are all Olivia Dean fans and this new track is so gorgeous. Feels so light but also quite personal. This song came out a few days before we started tour so this was on repeat!
ANDY SHAUF - WASTED ON YOU
Andy is incredible, everything about his music is so uniquely him. His lyricism, his tone, his arrangements (the clarinets, mwah) are insane. We actually went to go see him play solo a couple days after we got back from tour at The Corner Hotel which was a real treat.
THE STAVES - GOOD WOMAN
The Staves are a huge inspiration for us, and have been since the beginning of stamps. We love the darker undertones to the song, the lyrics and the different direction this album took. It’s a really great example of taking risks in music, and remaining true to the music you want to make. Plus it is just super catchy.
SISQO - THONG SONG
This, when you’re 7 hours into a drive, is exactly what is needed. Pretty sure if you go look at our tour photo dump on our Instagram there is footage… I vividly remember it bucketing down with rain for the majority of the drive from Sydney to Melbourne. This song came at the perfect time to liven up the mood in the car.
WICKED - FOR GOOD
There was no way we could last the whole road trip without putting on the Wicked soundtrack seeing as the movie came out while we were away on tour. This is the number one karaoke choice at any event.
SYCCO - SWARM
I (Sofia) am a Sycco enthusiast, in fact the entirety of Zorb was my soundtrack during our flight to Sunshine Coast where we started the tour. It was only natural that once we picked up the car and began the drive, Swarm had to make its way there. The perfect driving song on a hot, sunny day.
LIZZY MCALPINE - COME DOWN SOON
We’re all obsessed with Lizzy McAlpine, so much so that she topped all of our Spotify Wrapped artists this year. Come Down Soon has been on heavy rotation for us.
MICHAEL BUBLÉ - HOME
We played this while we drove to Mapleton in the Sunshine Coast. It was a really beautiful night and we had just played the first show of the tour on the East Coast. We were taking in the insane scenery and feeling very grateful to be able to play in new spots. We love his tone, songwriting, plus he’s Canadian - which is very important to Scarlett.
