Bundjalung/Byron Bay-based indie-punk outfit, Off Judy have dropped their new single, Scared Of The Dog. To celebrate, the band have curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of their musical influences.

"The 'dog' in Scared Of The Dog is the black dog. The track's theme is to continue enjoying life even though the black dog is always looming. Keeping it at bay but never giving in to it. Acknowledging it's there but keeping it just out of reach," lead vocalist Finn Mcildowie shares.

EYES BY WINELIPS

Probably our most played song over the last year. The track is punchy and in your face with bitey guitars and heaps of energy. We’ve drawn a lot from this band in our more recent tracks. They played in Europe a lot while we were there and we kept missing them by a day or two so we’re hanging out for an Aus tour.

CAN’T BE MINE BY BAD NERVES

Another band we’ve been thrashing over the last year or so. They have that power pop punk sound so down. Their melodies and hooks are 0 to none while still keeping that raw punk feel which is pretty crazy. We also kept missing this band while we were in Europe which was a bit heart breaking because I feel like they’ll graduate from playing smaller venues real soon which is sick! But it’s always cool as a fan to catch bands in more intimate venues. Great Band.

BLACK OUT BY TURNSTILE

Easily the best live act we’ve seen, they bring such an inviting energy to punk/hardcore that makes anyone want to move. Their stage presence and charisma is on a whole new level and they have an insanely creative rhythm section that is one of a kind and can’t be replicated. Absolutely hanging for new music from Turnstile!

MY HAIR IS A LITTLE BIT ON FIRE BY LETTERS TO LIONS

We had actually never heard of these guys until they recently got back together. We’ve always loved Adam Newlings music and this track feels like he’s bought more of his solo stuff into the mix and they’ve landed on the perfect middle ground with the sound they already had. Excited to see the new music they have to come.
