Sydney-based post-hardcore five-piece Isotopes recently made their return with, WYWFM. The release arrived alongside a glamorous visual, which sees the five-piece dressed the nines, taking over Sydney’s Marble Bar. Frontman Justin Miller takes us through the filming of the clip, sharing some exclusive behind-the-scenes shots.
In the words of Barney Stinson, "suit up".
The main idea for the clip was to have the whole band scrub up for a change and show a completely different side visually to what we normally would in previous clips. The structure and overall sound of the song made for it to be quite cohesive. I found myself triple checking everyone’s attire with photo proof for me to approve, in the lead up to the shoot, especially on the morning of the shoot. I spent more time checking on everyones progress, attire and time of arrival. I even managed to forget my own suit pants. Luckily, I threw jeans on that morning, and they sufficed for the shoot.
The addition of the narrative instantly clicked in relation to The Titanic and I felt the need to have that accompany the clip. Our lead Gentleman Dave would be searching for love through lust and temptation from our lady in gold Tash, only to watch it all disappear before his very eyes.
All of the team did a great job, as well as the extras who dedicated their time and patience on the day. A flashy bunch, nonetheless, WYWFM music video? Or another season of the Bachelor?
WYWFM is out now! Watch the visual below.
