Our favourite Melbourne hitmakers, Northeast Party House are back with their bangin' new track, Cranky Boy. The six-piece have also launched their Cranky Boy textline, where fans can send in their own cranky stories to be shared on the bands socials.

Produced by band members Sean Kenihan and Malcolm Besley, and written by Zachary Hamilton-Reeves, Kenihan and Mitch Ansell, the tongue-in-cheek release is all about telling those angry people with traits of toxic masculinity to pull it back and find their cool. A spoken word performance stomps atop coaxing and booming beats that'll have you cutting shapes on the dance-floor all weekend long.

“In the studio, Cranky Boy was about letting go and having fun. Sounding how we sound and being whatever we wanted to be. From Shelf Life we found the energy that we initially set out to establish, as a group. Cranky Boy is a continuation of that. It’s the track we’ve always been trying to make, it’s fun and obnoxious, we’ll have fun playing it live and also enjoying dropping it in a DJ set without compromising the D floor” the band share of the track.

To celebrate the release, Northeast Party House are bringing the fun on the road, announcing a string of DJ sets and live shows across the country. Fans can catch the group in Sydney, Bathurst and Melbourne for DJ sets over the following months, whilst Melbourne, Cowra and Perth crowds will be treated to live performances. Full tour details can be found below!
