Pop musician merci, mercy has announced the release of her debut EP, no thank you, no thanks, due out next month. The singer has also announced her first ever live show at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory.
no thank you, no thanks is set to offer insight into the 18 year olds life, featuring the previously released songs Fucked Myself Up and Fall Apart. With four more tracks rounding out the release, the singer will shine a light on mental health, self doubt and the trials and tribulations that come with falling in love. Of the EP, merci, mercy said “It was quite a therapeutic process for me to write these songs and I hope they might connect with people who have been through similar experiences”.
The announcements were accompanied by the release of the official music video for the singers later single, Fall Apart. Directed by Charli XCX-collaborator Bianca Bosso and Sam Murphy from The Interns, the clip brings together the animated world the singer has created, with her real self for the first time. "I was so excited to film my first video. I was a little nervous, but my sister bought champagne to loosen up during filming, and after a few takes, it was so fun. I love how Bianca has built an entire animated world for me, and with this video it’s just taken it to the next level.” the singer said of the music video.
Produced by Edwin White (Vance Joy) and Joel Quartermain (G Flip, Meg Mac), the song juxtaposes the artist’s tough girl exterior with her tender heart. Since the songs release, the signer has gained over 4 million streams with her fanbase growing by the day.
merci, mercy will treat fans in her hometown of Sydney to an exclusive show at the Oxford Art Factory to celebrate the release of the EP. Tickets are on sale now in limited quantities.
