We caught up with singer, songwriter and producer Jeremy Zucker in Sydney to chat about his sophomore album CRUSHER, bringing the record to a live setting, his visit to Australia and so much more!
Zucker's sophomore album CRUSHER arrived late last year, featuring the singles 8, Therapist, and HONEST. Pivoting away from his singer-songwriter roots, the musician forayed into an alt-pop realm, laced with driving percussion and roaring guitar work. The record followed up love is not dying, which saw the musician take to the stages of renowned festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Reading & Leeds and Firefly.
The musician recently shared his news single, i'm so happy, teaming up with New Zealand’s platinum sensation BENEE. "I’m So Happy is a song about fantasy," says Zucker. "I wanted to flip the idea of longing; instead of wishing to be somewhere with a special someone, I wrote the song while wishing to be somewhere *without* someone. The contradiction of the lyrics versus the instrumental is what I love most about it. Sonically, it has elements that may remind listeners of my old songs. I’m so grateful to BENEE for her part in creating this song – I hope you guys love it as much as we loved making it.”
Last month, Zucker brought his live show to Australia, marking the musicians first tour down under. Visiting Perth, Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane, the musician was joined by rising singer/songwriter Adam Melchor.
