Boorloo/Perth-based four-piece The Faim recently unveiled their sophomore album, Talk Talk. We caught up with the four-piece to chat about the release, the evolution of their artistry, touring and more!
Working with the likes of Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, YUNGBLUD, Machine Gun Kelly), Erik Ron (Panic! At the Disco, Godsmack, Set It Off), and Matthew Pauling (Palaye Royale, 5 Seconds of Summer, State Champs), the bands latest body of work pushes against the boundaries of their sound to reveal a dynamic sonic palette. Pivoting away from their signature pop-punk sound, the five piece have leaned into 80's influences and synth-pop inspired sounds to create a texturally lush body of work, channelling the likes of The 1975. Honest and conversational lyricism flows throughout, exploring themes of mental health and isolation, brought to life by frontman Josh Raven's compelling vocals.
Having formed in 2014, The Faim have shared a string of singles alongside their 2018 EP, Summer Is a Curse, and their 2019 debut album, State of Mind. the four-piece have spent much of the year bringing their live show to audiences across the globe, taking to the stage across the UK, Europe and Australia, including sets at including Rock am Ring, Download Festival, Rock Werchter, La Nuit De l'Erdre, Musilac. Throughout their career, they've performed at major festivals including Reading & Leeds Festival, Slam Dunk Festival, Lollapalooza Berlin and written and worked with the likes of Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Mark Hoppus (blink-182), Josh Dun (Twenty One Pilots), and Ashton Irwin (5 Second of Summer).
