Watch our interview with Stephen Sanchez below!
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez has shared his new single, Only Girl. We caught up with the musician whilst he was in Sydney to chat about the release, his forthcoming Australian tour, working on his debut album and so much more!
Continuing his foray into 1950's-60's inspired sonics, the nostalgia-fuelled single is made complete with dreamy production unfurling beneath Sanchez's swooning vocals. Taking on a conceptual nature, we're introduced to two characters vying for the heart of Evangeline (the central character from the musicians previous single). Heartfelt lyricism flows throughout, focusing on bringing back the idea of classic romance.
Having visited Sydney in March for Universal Music Australia's IGNITE showcase alongside DYLAN and d4vd, Sanchez will return to our shores this June for his debut Australian tour. Kicking off at Melbourne’s The Espy on June 5, the run of shows will continue on to Sydney’s Metro Theatre on June 6 before wrapping up at Brisbane’s The Zoo on Thursday 8 June. Tickets to all Australian shows have sold-out, with final release for the musicians Auckland show on sale now.
Last year, Sanchez sent the world into a frenzy with the release of his viral hit-single, Until I Found You. The track introduced us to a new sonic territory from the singer, leaning into swooning 1950's-60's melodies and sounds. The song has reached hit over 1 billion global streams between the original, piano version, and duet with pop singer and songwriter Em Beihold, and was followed up by Evangeline.
