Breakout singer and songwriter Mimi Webb has just unveiled her new single, Ghost of You. We caught up with the singer whilst she was in Sydney to chat about the release, her artistry and so much more!
Across the power-pop track, Webb documents moving on from a former flame and forgetting all about their existence until the quieter moments of the day come around and your mind overloads with memories of your time together. Vulnerable and sombre lyricism is juxtaposed by bombastic production and upbeat sonics, capturing the duality of the songs thematic exploration. The release arrives alongside an official visual, where we follow the singer as she wanders through the streets of London in a series of fashionable outfits as she strives to let go.
Having just wrapped up an Australian show which saw the singer play to crowds in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Webb is currently in the midst of her first ever North American headline tour. The run of shows will continue on to Boston and New York this week, before wrapping up in Washington.
Influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Sam Smith, Webb grew up in the UK town of Canterbury and studied at The BRIT School. She caught the attention of Epic Records following a series of compositions and collaborations uploaded online. Since then, Webb has dropped a string of singles, including House on Fire and Good Without, and has racked up over 730 million global streams. The singer is currently working on her debut album, which will follow up her 2021 EP, Seven Shades of Heartbreak.
