British singer-songwriter, Maisie Peters has dropped her hotly-anticipated debut album, You Signed Up For This. Having signed to Ed Sheeran's Gingerbread Man Records, Peters teamed up with Sheeran and Steve Mac on the albums single, Psycho.
You Signed Up For This cements Peters' skills as a songwriter first and foremost, as she navigates the transitional period from adolescence to adulthood. Bringing the same glow and vein of Taylor Swift’s earlier records, the record is a coming of age story, and an ode to girlhood laced with timeless lyricism.
Featuring the singles John Hughes Movie, Psycho, You Signed Up for This and Brooklyn, You Signed Up For This transforms everyday life into a treasure trove of experiences, with a sense of wit, charm and quiet confidence woven throughout. Peters navigates love, heartbreak and betrayal, whilst also recalling upon childhood memories across the collision of songs.
Earlier this year, Peters penned the soundtrack for for the second season of Apple TV+ Original Series, Trying, which featured collaborations with the likes of Griff, James Bay and Bear’s Den. The singer has performed to sold-out crowds across UK and North America, since the release of her debut EP Dressed Too Nice for a Jacket in 2018, followed up by It's Your Bed Babe, It's Your Funeral in 2019.
