Watch our interview with Aodhan below
Singer-songwriter Aodhan has unveiled his new single, Empty Spaces, marking the musicians first taste of new music since the release of his debut EP, Flies In My Room. We caught up with Aodhan to chat about the release, the EP, his current tour and so much more!
Inspired by the musicians first break up, the emotive track navigates and dissects his own feelings towards the relationships demise and his decision to walk away from his former partner. Aodhan's warm and mesmerising vocals vocals float above dynamic guitar melodies and driving percussion, laced with introspective and confessional lyricism. Continuing his exploration of organic instrumental sonics, we're introduced to a more fast-paced approach from the musician, co-produced and recorded and recorded with Ryan Miller (Angus & Julia Stone, Thelma Plum).
Originally set to take to the stage in Sydney tomorrow night, Aodhan has unfortunately had to postpone the show due to testing positive for COVID-19. Whilst a new date has yet to be announced, the musician will embark on his debut UK headline tour, performing in Brighton, St Agnes, Falmouth, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Bishop's Stortford next month. Aodhan will also take to the stage in Gerringong this October, performing at Unwind In The Vines Gerringong.
The musician project of Aidan Whitehall, the musician has been immersed in music since a young age, learning guitar at the age of five. Since his early teens, Whitehall began exploring songwriting and performing, following a high school show performance. Aodhan took out the triple j Unearthed High Indigenous initiative in 2019, with his track Twelve Again scoring a spot in the finals for Unearthed High. Since then, he has participated in BIGSOUND Big 50, and written with the likes of Josh Pyke and Holy Holy.
