Watch our interview with Great Gable below!
Perth four-piece Great Gable have shared their sophomore album, On The Wall In The Morning Light, via Rainbow Valley Records. We caught up with the band to chat about the release, their evolution as songwriters, touring and more!
The nostalgia-fuelled release sees the band pushing up against their signature sound, creating bright and effortlessly captivating soundscapes that unfurl beneath frontman Alex Whiteman's distinct and inimitable vocals. Bringing personal and introspective lyricism, the record touches on themes of finding love and taking chances, with a focus on watching time pass by, inspired by their time in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recorded at Rainbow Valley Studios, and produced by Matt Corby and Alex Henriksson, the record brings an organic and zestful approach to indie-rock, showcasing the bands growth as songwriters and artists. Last year, the band announced their signing to Corby and Henriksson's label, Rainbow Valley Records.
To celebrate the release, Great Gable are hitting the road! Kicking off in Adelaide on October 7, the run of shows will continue on to Hobart, Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Brisbane, Byron Bay and Maroochydore, before wrapping up in Perth on November 11. The band will be supported by Dice and Velvet Bloom.
