Toronto-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist GRAE recently unveiled her new single Room in the Desert. Arriving alongside the announcement debut LP Whiplash, due out this April, the singer has shared with MILKY five emerging artists she thinks we should all be listening to!

“Room in the Desert was written on a day when I lacked inspiration. I came into the session with my producer Connor Seidel not knowing what to write about, and instead of trying to fight that feeling, I embraced it. I decided to write a song about nothing, from nothing, using some random and interesting words we could find. At the time of writing, it had no real meaning, which was the intention, but now I actually find meaning in it, which is interesting. I hope those who listen can find their own unique meaning too.” GRAE shares of the track.

YOUNG FRIEND

Young Friend has such a cool vibe going. I heard his song Pinch Me on a playlist, and I was hooked. I love his music, and he’s an artist I’m super excited to watch grow.

ANNIE DIRUSSO

I love Annie. I found her through TikTok, and her music is excellent. I’m in love with her voice, her vibe; she’s a great songwriter and just an overall cool artist/person. I’m excited to watch her flourish!

RUBY WATERS

Ruby is such a unique artist. Honestly, her voice makes every hair on my body stand up. She’s an incredible live performer, writer, musician, singer… I listen to her music a lot, and I’m such a fan.

FANCLUBWALLET

Fanclubwallet writes such amazing songs that make me feel some type of way. She is definitely an exciting upcoming artist I feel lucky having caught so early. She’s like a little secret, but not for long.

JOSH FUDGE

I heard Josh’s song Feel Like from a playlist and had it on repeat for days. He writes vibey tunes and is also a great producer. I highly recommend his music!
