Adelaide five-piece Mum Thinks Blue have released their new single, Side That Wasn’t Told. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY ten facts about themselves they everyone should know.

“The lyrics are about breaking away from the normal lifestyle and not wanting to follow the expected cycle that I thought was the only option when growing up,” vocalist Austin Dobbin shares of the track.

“It focuses on the so-called ‘fairytale’ life that I personally felt was the only way to feel happy at the time; to have a successful job to support my future family in our future house. The meaning of the story shows that there is no perfect ending and that everyone is entitled to their own lifestyle and not to be so hard on yourself just because others are doing things differently and are on different paths.”

ONE

Travis Dempsey from the living end actually mentored us and helped produce Broken Fence.

TWO

We were supposed to support Twin Peaks (from America) at their Adelaide show but then covid happened :(

THREE

We actually changed and re recorded the vocal melody and lyrics for our single ‘Headspin’ about a month before it came out.

FOUR

Half of the band traveled to America back when we were in school for our music department to play at Disney world and universal studios.

FIVE

Joe and Joaquin are both very allergic to cats.

SIX

Hannah wears crocs to every practice, and wishes she wore them everywhere constantly.

SEVEN

Josh has taken a poo in probably 30% of the toilets of South Australia.

EIGHT

Austin sweats away at least four kilos at gigs from dancing like a mad man.

NINE

We all love a good dance along with a few vodka sodas.

TEN

Before gigs Joe and Josh are constantly hungry, Austin is constantly thirsty, Joaquin quite often feels sick/tired, and Hannah is tired and thirsty.

Side That Wasn’t Told is out now!
