17-year old rising pop singer-songwriter GAYLE has dropped her riotous new single, abcdefu. The release marks the first taste of music from the singer since her signing to Atlantic Records and arrives alongside an official visual.
Produced by Pete Nappi (Kesha, Anne Marie, Madison Beer, Illenium), the track is an FU to that pesky ex, the one who did you nasty yet you still rise above show them kindness. Built upon minimalistic sonics and jagged guitar work, the song reaches its climax with a massive sing-a-long chorus.
“That song came from a place of trying so hard to be the nice, respectful ex-girlfriend, to the point where it was negatively affecting me,” GAYLE says. “It’s about asking, ‘Why am I being so nice to this person who completely took advantage of me? and allowing myself to express my anger about that.”
GAYLE is set to hit the road this November, with headline shows scheduled in Brooklyn, Nashville and Los Angeles
