New Zealand duo, Foley are back with their new single, Time Of My Life. To celebrate the release, they have shared with MILKY their top five tips for having the time of your life.

"The song starts from a place of wanting more for yourself that the mundane day to day life you are living. It’s truly born from ambition and dreaming of a ferociously chaotic and AWAKE life. We wanted to lean into a feeling of need and desperation for some excitement - which led to a lot of quite dramatic lyrics like, “At the end of the night, I kind of feel like I’m dying,” talking about being stuck in your hometown at the same old party with the same old people, being pleasant to everyone but inside absolutely screaming to leave," the duo share.

"The song is a craving for new memories, new stories, and letting yourself be free to make mistakes and learn from them. The production is just as chaotic and loose as the song's meaning which was such a pleasure to work on. Josh Naley, our wonderful producer, absolutely let it rip and made the song such a joy to listen to and play because it feels so free.”

KEEP YOUR FRIENDS ON SPEED DIAL

What’s a memory without your pals at your side? Gabe and I have been best friends for over a decade and it has made for a camera roll full of hilarious moments - and devastating outfits that I would rather forget…. When I think back to the craziest decisions and the biggest swings I have attempted in my life, my besties were with me for every one of them, cheering me on and telling me it was a great idea.

FIND A COMMUNITY TO JOIN, AND JOIN IT DEEPLY

We all have our passions and interests, and they all come with a community of like minded people to get to know. Some of the best times of my life have come from meeting fans of the same band, the same hobby, or the same sport. Find that community and lean in as much as you can - just say yes!

REDISCOVER SINGING IN THE SHOWER

I have no clue at what age I stopped singing in the shower but it is truly one of life’s great joys. There is nothing better than getting ready for a night out, maybe having a shower beer if you are feeling cheeky, and singing your heart out as obnoxious as possible. Points for using the shampoo as a microphone.
