Hot off the release of their latest EP Comfort Is King, Marvell are hitting the road! Kicking off later this week, the five-piece have shared with MILKY five things they're most looking forward to on their upcoming run of shows.

Speaking of the Comfort Is King, Max Marvell shares: “Ultimately, we wanted to make a fun, energetic record, despite some of the other stuff that life had thrown at us and our mates, so that we could address all the painful parts that led up to this record while not letting it take us over completely. We wanted to try and find the fun and the life amongst it all to keep us going and that’s what this record is about; acknowledging the shitty times but also remembering why we play and make music - because it’s a blast and brings us all together despite anything else.”

To be honest touring is not fun anymore. This the constant rule changes for each and every state and the stress on all parties involved it’s taken away the magic of touring as a band. That being said here are a few things that will make it bearable:

ONE

Our fans! Without our fans touring doesn’t happen. We are lucky enough to have loyal and loveable fans across OZ and they always make us feel welcome when we play.

TWO

Dodgy hotels & motels are a huge part of most of our memories on the road, that we will cherish forever. We’ve stayed at some of the weirdest and whackiest places and can’t wait to return.

THREE

“Special requests” every time we book a hotel or motel we always fill out the special requests section with things like “A4 laminated photo of Bill Murray on one of the beds, to make our morning just a little brighter” and more than often they deliver!

FOUR

Being together. Most of what we write and come up with is on tour together where we can spitball ideas, licks and songs we have all been working on within the comfort of our homes. So it’s so nice being together and sharing these ideas and watching them take a different line, being reworked or thrown directly into the “never play that again bin”.

FIVE

Pubs. We love pubs big and small. Australia has some of the best hidden gems in the smallest towns or down a dark hidden lane way in big cities. Cheap feeds, cold beer & locals are easily our favourite settings and place to relax from it all.
