Aussie alt-rockers, Caravãna Sun have unveiled their long-awaited new album, Burning Palms. To celebrate the release, the band have shared with MILKY five tips they have for moving on and leaving it all behind.

Written whilst touring in Munich and Lisbon and recorded in the Blue Mountains over the past two years, the collection of songs captures magnetic energy of the bands live performances. Laced with relatable lyricism and ear-worm melodies, Caravãna Sun stay true to their alt-rock meets surf-rock beginnings, whilst pushing up against the boundaries of their signature sound.

Speaking of the process behind the record, the band share: “Collaboration was a key aspect as Chris Smithson ended up tracking a lot of the bass guitar parts and Ant Beard would swap over to keys. With many different influences, we ended up with a collection of songs that was truly necessary for us to write, given the pandemic. It was a truly cathartic and important record for us and saw the four of us as artists grow and redefine the creative cogs that turn Caravãna Sun behind the scenes. All of these songs were driven in such a way that meant we could play them live. For Caravãna Sun, the live connection has always been at the core of what we do and were super proud to be bringing these songs to the global stage”

Having toured the world over, Caravãna Sun are known for their energetic live shows, weaving in anthemic crowd sing-a-longs, with quieter more vulnerable moments. Made up of Luke Carra (guitar/vocals), Ant Beard (bass/vocals), Chris Smithson (keys/vocals) & James Smithers (drums), the band have shared the stage with the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Madness and UB40 to name a few. The band are set to hit the road next month, performing across the country until late August.
