British singer-songwriter, Bradley Simpson has unveiled his new single, Carpet Burn. The track is taken from the singers forthcoming debut album, The Panic Years, due out next month.

Across the track, Simpson longs for more time with a loved one - reflecting on intimate moments spent together. There's a coming-of-age undertone to the track, drenched in nostalgia and the golden hues of years passed. His vocals boom above warm sonics, led by driving percussions and engulfing guitar work.

Carpet Burn was the first song I wrote when I got to New York to write the album and it always felt really special. It’s a song about wanting more time with someone special to you, and it came around really quickly. I wrote it in my hotel room in about half an hour and took it into the studio the next day. The main bulk of the finished song was done on that first day. I’ve been playing it at shows for the past few months and hearing the fans singing the words back without the song even being released has blown my mind so I’m excited for them to have the song!”

Having rose to fame at the frontman of British band The Vamps, Simpson's transition from band frontman to solo artist is driven by his personal song collection, signalling an exciting new chapter in his career. He will make his solo Australian debut next month, playing shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Tickets are on sale now!

The Panic Years is out February 28. Listen to Carpet Burn below.
