5 UPLIFTING TRACKS THAT MAKE SACHI FEEL 'WHOLE AGAIN'

Watch our interview with SACHI below!

New Zealand electronic duo SACHI have returned with their new single, Whole Again. To celebrate the release, they've shared with MILKY five uplifting tracks that make them feel whole again.

"Whole Again came to us on a rainy day in Sydney - we had some chords that we loved which we brought into the studio with Aston." the duo share with MILKY. "To us they evoke a sense of hope but also somehow melancholy. We wrote the song around a similar idea - how disorienting the end of a great love can be. Meditations on pain and confusion but with an overarching feeling of hope for the future. We took the song and remixed it over and over, playing with the production and looking for the energy that moves us on the dance floor, in clubs and at festivals. It’s sad, it’s joyous, it’s pure energy, it’s dancing with friends, it’s the healing powers of music, it’s Whole Again!"

Last weekend, SACHI kicked off their CLUB SACHI tour in Wellington. Serving as an intimate series of DJ club nights, the duo will be hitting Catacombs Nightclub in Dunedin this Friday, before heading to Auckland's Neck On The Woods on July 28.

GORILLAZ - EMPIRE ANTS (FEAT. LITTLE DRAGON)

Man, what a song. The arc is divine. It takes you from this gorgeous ethereal place where the lyrics and music hold you in a warm hug, to this enormous charging release where the drums and bassline come in. Then Yukimi Nagano’s vocal wraps it all up in the stunning final act. And then a fade out? Stunning. Is this what passing through the unified field feels like?

GOLDEN FEATURES - FLESH

Our pick from the new Golden Features record - it’s another one that takes you on a journey of epic proportions. The juxtaposition from where it starts to where it ends is so gnarly, it’s raw aggressive instrumental electronic attitude into a joyously hopeful climax. So unexpected. So euphoric. So uplifting. Technically perfect.

BEYONCE - BREAK MY SOUL [THE QUEENS REMIX]

Renaissance has been an endless well of inspiration for us since it came out. It’s a masterpiece on this bed of dance and electronic music, moving through house, jersey and miami bass, to experimental and everything in between, with the most incredible artists, writers and producers contributing to it. This Break My Soul remix is a particular favorite, it’s the late nights out dancing and singing with friends. It’s free expression and attitude. The sentiment is beautiful, paying respects to her contemporaries and the artists that came before her. Stunning.

DOSS - PUPPY [FEEL THE BEAT MIX]

Doss is the most incredible producer. This song has so much energy, and we love that at a time in dance music where many producers are looking to the past, this song feels like it’s equally looking to the future. It’s a futuristic techno masterpiece. It’s got a cheekiness to it, the bassline and the lead that comes in in the last drop feel like a little wink to the camera. Beautiful, effortless, fun club music.

SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR - MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR

A timeless classic, we play this masterpiece in our DJ sets all the time and it never fails to get the room jumping. It’s got it all - the smoothest of disco drums, sultry chimes, perfect string lines, guitar licks that kiss you on the cheek, grooving bass and a fade out! All underneath a perfect pop song about a night out dancing. Wow. Thank you Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
