5 THINGS TAYLOR B-W IS MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ABOUT TOURING

BTW TBW is out now!

Sydney-based artist Taylor B-W is getting ready to hit the road in support of her debut EP, BTW TBW. To celebrate the tour, the singer has shared with MILKY five things she's most looking forward to about the run of shows.

“There is something exciting but anxiety-inducing about travelling to regional cities and performing to audiences who have never heard of me. Especially when I perform pop/r&b music - it’s not country or rock, so there may be some initial reluctance. I’m actually excited to explore the reaction, and can only hope that audiences are open to fresh sounds!” the singer shares.

"Getting the funding for this tour, from Create NSW, has helped to give me a step-up in my career, whilst also assisting the regional live music scene to flourish again after what has been a tough couple of years for the live music industry. Having local special guests to support me is also my way of embracing the local music scene."

Kicking off tonight at Sideway Bar in Canberra, the tour will continue on to Wagga Wagga, Terrigal, Bathurst, Katoomba and Wollongong, before wrapping up in Newcastle on October 30. Tickets are on sale now!

MEETING NEW AUDIENCES

The whole point of this tour is to expand my following and test the waters to see how my music will be received in regional towns that may not get many pop/soul/r&b artists visiting. I’m just excited to meet and connect with new people!

HELPING TO REINVIGORATE THE LIVE MUSIC SCENE IN REGIONAL CITIES

It’s no surprise that Regional towns were really hit hard by bushfires, particularly in 2020, COVID lockdowns and the recent floods. In amongst all this chaos, the music industry has taken a huge blow. And now, people everywhere have a thirst for live music again and I would love to be able to assist in building it back up again. Not only will it help boost my career, and provide entertainment for audiences, but it also helps to secure jobs at the music venues.

HANGING OUT WITH MY BANDMATES

I have the pleasure of performing with two sensational band members, who also happen to be my good friends: Chris Rulewski (guitar/BVs) and Marco Volgare (drums). Sometimes it is hard to find downtime with them outside of work, so it’ll be really nice to spend some quality time together off the stage.

PERFORMING WITH LOCAL ACTS

Similarly to no.2, I want to support each city’s music scene so that means, where I can, I have recruited special local acts to support me. It will be such a pleasure to perform alongside acts: Social Afterparty and Donny (Wagga Wagga), Calcite and Jessica Allen (Wollongong), Jazzy Gold (Bathurst), Soyboy and Lilac Cadillac (Newcastle) and My World Blurry and Humdinger (Canberra). I’ve even created a Spotify playlist featuring all the special guests on this tour to celebrate them coming on board!

BEING OUT ON THE ROAD

This is my first ever tour and, to be honest, I would not have dreamt of doing this had I not received generous funding from Create NSW. Thanks to them, I just get to enjoy being out on the road, exploring cities I haven’t been to before (or in a long time) and performing my music to new audiences - what an incredible opportunity and a big step up in my career. Let’s get this show (literally) on the road!
