Auckland singer-songwriter-producer brother duo Balu Brigada recently shared their new single, Preview. To celebrate the release, the brothers have shared with MILKY 5 five artists who have influenced their sound.

"Preview is about a moment that you get a taste of something you’ve been dreaming about your whole life." the duo share of the track.

Brothers Henry and Pierre Beasley are heralding in their own take on groove-pop, fusing together a variety of sonic threads and experimenting with their sound. In 2019, the duo dropped their debut EP, Almost Feel Good Mixtape, bringing irresistible meoldies and superb production to every release.

CAROLINE POLACHEK - SO HOT YOU’RE HURTING MY FEELINGS

A perfect balance of airtight songwriting and eccentricities in production and vocal delivery.

ANDRE 3000 - PROTOTYPE

A master genre blender and experimenter. Comfortable to tackle unexpected genres and styles production wise. And then just the most absurdly creative lyricism and flow that will always have me smiling/giggling/pulling a really nasty face.

GORILLAZ - NOVEMBER HAS COME

We've always been inspired by how limitless Damon’s capacity for experimentation and sonic exploration is. Even after so long, it feels like he’s just enjoying tinkering with new synths and working with new people.

STEVE LACY - N SLIDE

We've always been a huge fan of Steve Lacy’s production, particularly the drums. They’re always warm, crisp and analogue. Coupled with his lush and jazzy chords you really get a bounce going.

THE STROKES - 12:51

Julian's vocal melodies and performances are always 10/10 and love that they bring a certain pop sensibility to guitar music.
